Dr. Nikki Wan, DC CCSP
Dr. Nikki Wan was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She grew up playing violin and participating in both competitive swimming and triathlons. In high school she wanted to pursue Music Education and attended the University of North Texas.
During her time at the University of North Texas, she was active in the Student Government Association for the Music school and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. While active in Music Education, she realized her talents would be better utilized through a Kinesiology degree.
With a very active youth, Nikki had a variety of injuries with the severe one being when she tore the labrum in her left shoulder after 4 dislocations and spent 2 years in physical therapy and had seen a sports chiropractor. During one of her college courses, Parker University had come in and talked about chiropractic school, and that was it. After finishing 3.5 years of undergraduate studies, she decided to pursue chiropractic school and started at Parker University in January 2018.
She chose chiropractic because that allowed her to help others and she had a passion for sports. She had seen a sports chiropractor growing up in Austin and that was the field of chiropractic she was set on from the first day of school. While at Parker, she helped create the Parker Endurance Sports Club along with other fellow triathletes with goals of attending USAT Collegiate Nationals and was the Vice President for the first 2 years and President for her last year of school. She actively participated in the Sports Chiropractic club and Rehab 2 Performance club with the goal of learning as much as she could while at school. Nikki chose this profession as she wanted to be able to help others to help them perform optimally and move well.
During her clinical rotation, she was chosen to be a part of the Sports Performance program under the supervision of Dr. Mamon and Dr. McAlister. In her final trimester, she was chosen to be part of the Community Based Internship program where she was able to intern at a practice in the community at Expressions Chiropractic Dallas under Dr. Fowler.
Upon graduating chiropractic school, Dr. Nikki moved to Boulder, Colorado to spread her wings and invest in herself by moving to a place she knew very few people. While there she had the opportunity to work at two separate sports chiropractic clinics. That’s when she decided to open her own concierge sports chiropractic practice as she saw the need for this in the Denver/Boulder area. And now she has brought her practice to the Austin area where she was born and raised!
With her time spent in the Dallas area for 7 years, she built a community of friends and actively participates in a health and wellness organization, Fitness Ambassadors HQ, along with a running group, Pint Striders, and helped create a triathlete community in Dallas proper. Outside of work and training, Nikki spends time with her dog Daisy and loves being outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. She also is a triathlete, weightlifter, and has goals of doing a full Ironman one day
